Dr Sandra Hacker AO

Dr Hacker is a psychiatrist in private practice, and was a liaison psychiatrist to the Alfred Hospital Heart-Lung Transplant Unit. Dr Hacker has chaired numerous Boards including the Mental Health Research Institute, the Australian Health Ethics Committee of the National Health & Medical Research Council, and the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare. She currently chairs the Human Research Ethics Committee for the Department of Health and Human Services and is a Director of the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation. Dr Hacker was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) in 2005 for services to the medical profession and awarded an honorary Doctorate of Medical Science by the University of Melbourne in 2012.
